Hi…I am Sofia Verna , now living and working in Italy, where I’m inspired by the beauty of the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside and where I find the very best materials for making clothes and accessories.
Everything you find on my website is designed and made by me,… one of a kind,.. one at a time. Making clothing and accessories on a sound ecological basis and with “staying power” is very important to me. The idea is to buy less but of superior quality .
Ms. Emma Designs was started by me in the 70’s in Toronto. My love of the craft and the passion was key in Ms. Emma’s evolution and success.
Each piece I make is unique. Patchworking, upcycled combinations, vintage fabrics, unusual pieces of cloth as well as handpainting, felting, crocheting and compositions thereof are my signature.
The clothes I make are easy fitting, comfortable and above all, are meant to give you a personal look. The jewellery and accessories complement the Ms. Emma style.
You’ll find patchwork, bias cut, uneven hems , kimono style jackets with drop-shoulder or dolman sleeves . Then add the poetry of colour and a complimentary custom fit and you have…a style with a difference.
